Party Central Committee’s 14th meeting wraps up

During the two-day plenum, the Central Committee reached an agreement on the number of members of the Politburo and the Secretariat of the 14th tenure, consensus on nominees for election to the Politburo and the Secretariat of the 14th tenure, as well as several matters related to senior positions of the Party and the State.

The Central Committee also agreed on contents concerning the pparation for the 14th National Party Congress.

In his closing remarks, General Secretary To Lam said, the Resolution No. 18 on restructuring and streamlining the political system's organizational apparatus has been completed five years ahead of schedule—creating a "breakthrough" and a "turning point" in implementing the Party's resolutions in the new context.

According to the Party leader, the most notable and groundbreaking achievement in implementing Resolution No. 18 is the introduction of the two-tier local administration system and the reorganization of administrative boundaries at the provincial and communal levels, which has created new space, potential, and development opportunities for the country in the new era.

To emphasized the significance of three key objectives, including maintaining a peaceful and stable environment, achieving rapid and sustainable development and continuously improving the material and spiritual well-being for the people.

As Typhoon Kalmaegi is expected to hit the central Viet Nam the same day, the Party chief urged all localities and relevant ministries to prioritize the protection of lives and property and mobilize all resources to support affected areas./.
