November 24 designated as “Viet Nam Culture Day"
VGP - The Politburo has issued the Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW, which highlights the significance of innovation and digital transformation in Viet Nam’s cultural development.

According to the Resolution, Viet Nam will effectively develop and monitor the national cultural data infrastructure and shared digital platforms, ensuring synchronized connectivity with national databases as well as enhance the development of digital content and digital cultural infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the tangible and intangible cultural heritage as well as high-value literary and artistic works will be comprehensively standardized and digitalized while data governance will be strengthened to ensure security and digital cultural sovereignty.
The Resolution targets to step up the development of digital infrastructure and enhance the application of artificial intelligence (AI), big data, virtual reality technologies, blockchain, and related technologies in cultural production, distribution, consumption, and cultural governance.
It advocates the establishment of "digital culture", "open museums", "mobile theaters" and "digital libraries" that are accessible and user-friendly for all age groups.
The Resolution aims to build a cultural ecosystem that fosters innovation, in which enterprises serve as a driving force and people are both the subjects and the center.
It targets to form digital content creation spaces and creative environments for communities of enterprises and organizations to engage in the production and provision of cultural products and services.
Enterprises are encouraged to invest in digital cultural products and services, link culture with tourism, commerce, and technology in order to form value chains and establish cultural innovation centers and digital content–creative hubs.
In particular, the Party and the State call for investment in the conservation, restoration, and promotion of cultural heritage values, establishment of heritage cities and development of the heritage economy, thereby contributing to the completion of the cultural ecosystem.
The Resolution also underscores the need to accelerate the development of cultural industries and cultural markets, and position nationally branded cultural products in connection with the development of cultural tourism.
The Politburo has agreed to designate November 24 as “Viet Nam Culture Day,” making it a public holiday with full pay, with a view to enhancing the public’s access and enjoyment of culture./.
