The overview of the Ha Noi Opera Theatre

The theatre, covering an area of 19 hectares at Quang An Peninsula, Tay Ho Ward, started construction on October 5.

With a total investment of over VND 12,700 billion (US$480 million), the project is expected to be completed in 2027.

Designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano, it has a total floor area of approximately 40,000 m², nearly six times larger than a standard football field.

It includes two main auditoriums, an opera hall with about 1,800 seats and a multifunctional hall accommodating over 1,400 people.

Its design features wave-like curves, harmoniously blending modernity with tradition. The ceramic dome with a pearl-like finish makes the theatre shimmer like a jewel in the heart of the city.

The Ha Noi Opera Theatre is not merely the construction of a uniquely designed architectural work, the first of its kind in Viet Nam, but a cultural statement honoring the historical and artistic legacy of Ha Noi.

The project carries profound cultural significance, not only elevating Ha Noi's global standing but also expanding opportunities for Vietnamese audiences to experience and appreciate the world's artistic masterpieces./.
