New Law on Technology Transfer adopted
VGP - The National Assembly on Wednesday approved the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Technology Transfer as part of an effort to further improve the legal framework for technology transfer.

The new law, scheduled to become effective from April 1, 2026, excludes regulations on the order and procedures for approving the issuance of technology transfer permits.
The revised law is expected to promote high-tech production and business investment, and to position science and technology as a key economic growth engine.
The scope of technology regulated by the law has become more comprehensive, with additional definitions and new technologies such as strategic technology and green technology.
The law also targets to promote endogenous technology transfer among domestic enterprises/organizations and individuals, and commercialization of research and development results. This includes provisions on technology ownership and usage rights, capital contribution to investment projects through technology, and technologies encouraged for transfer./.
