Deputy Prime Minister Tran made the above statement at his meeting with Speaker of the House of Representatives Vera Bergkamp and President of the Senate Jan Anthonie Bruijn in The Hague, Netherlands on June 26 (local time).

Tran highly appreciated the positive developments in bilateral relations as well as the excellent cooperation relationship between the National Assembly of Viet Nam and the Parliament of the Netherlands.

In the coming time, the two countries should be determined to comprehensively promote and deepen the framework of the Strategic Partnership in the field of climate change and sustainable agriculture; effectively implement the Viet Nam - E.U. Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), Tran said.

He proposed the Dutch Parliament soon ratify the EVIPA to create favorable conditions for Dutch enterprises to expand their business and investment in Viet Nam and push for the EC's removal of the IUU "yellow card" warning against Vietnamese seafood exports.

The host leaders asserted that Viet Nam is an essential partner of the Netherlands in the Asia-Pacific region and spoke highly of close coordination between the Dutch Parliament and the Vietnamese National Assembly at regional and international inter-parliamentary forums.

They believed that the cooperation between the two legislatures would develop more robust in the coming time on the bilateral aspect and at multilateral forums, contributing to peace and stability in the world and the region, as well as addressing global challenges towards sustainable development.

Regarding the East Sea issue, they affirmed their support for ensuring security, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation and settling disputes by peaceful means under international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982).

On this occasion, the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister conveyed National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue's regards and invitations to Vera Bergkamp and Jan Anthonie Bruijn to visit Viet Nam.

The Dutch leaders pleasedly accepted the invitations and affirmed that they would visit Viet Nam soon.

The same day, Deputy Prime Minister Tran attended a roundtable discussion with Dutch and Vietnamese businesses. He believed businesses would pioneer promoting Viet Nam-Netherlands cooperation in the next 50 years.

The seminar was attended by nearly 30 large Dutch and Vietnamese enterprises operating in various fields, including port infrastructure, mining, dredging, maritime services, logistics, renewable energy, and agriculture.

Tran and leaders of many ministries and branches witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in maritime human resource training and training between the Viet Nam Maritime Administration and the Netherlands STC-Group Holding B.V./.
