Nearly 98,000 workers sent abroad in eight months
VGP - Viet Nam sent 97,960 workers abroad in the first eight months of this year, equivalent to 75.3 percent of this year’s target.

According to the Department of Overseas Labor under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Japan remained the top importer of manpower from Viet Nam, recruiting 43,900 workers, followed by Taiwan with 37.900 workers, and South Korea with 8,920 workers.
Other major destinations for Vietnamese workers included China with around 2,000 workers, Singapore with 1,500 workers, and Romania with 458 workers.
In August alone, 12,180 laborers left Viet Nam for overseas employments, including 3,850 female workers.
The European market, considered to have rich potential, has shown promising signs. Some markets, such as Romania and Hungary, have begun accepting Vietnamese laborers, though the numbers remain modest.
This highlights the need for stronger solutions to promote the development of new markets and to improve the quality of the labor force, especially in terms of foreign language proficiency and vocational skills, to meet the increasingly high demands of labor markets in this region./.
