Over 143,000 workers sent abroad in 11 months
VGP - Viet Nam sent 143,160 workers abroad in the first 11 months, including 45,350 female workers, according to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA).
With the above figure, Viet Nam's manpower export in January-November period exceeded this year's preset target by 14 percent or 125,000 laborers.
Japan remains the largest recipient with 69,188 guest workers, including 28,665 female ones; followed by Taiwan with 53,271 and South Korea with 11,273.
To date, around 650,000 Vietnamese guest workers have travelled to work in 40 foreign countries and territories and brought home US$3.5-4 billion in remittances annually.
In 2023, the number of Vietnamese workers contracted to work abroad reached a record high of nearly 160,000, exceeding the initial plan by 133.3 percent./.
