Japan is the top importer of Vietnamese manpower

The above figure include 28,991 women, said the Department.

Japan remained the top destination, receiving 4,318 Vietnamese workers, followed by Taiwan with 4,265 workers and South Korea with 1,690. Other markets such as mainland China, Singapore, Romania, and Hungary also maintained manpower import, creating additional opportunities for Vietnamese laborers.

Viet Nam set the target of sending 130,000 laborers to work under contracts around the world this year.

Currently, over 800,000 Vietnamese workers are employed across 40 countries and territories.

In 2024 alone, Viet Nam sent more than 158,000 laborers abroad. Migrant workers contribute an estimated US$5 billion in remittances to the national economy each year./.
