President Tamas and his entourage were welcomed at Noi Bai International Airport by Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Bui Le Thai and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Anh Tuan.
The visit takes place at the invitation of President Luong Cuong as the two countries are celebrating the 75th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations (February 3, 1950 – 2025).
The visit marks a significant milestone and opens new cooperation opportunities in the Viet Nam–Hungary Comprehensive Partnership, said Hungarian Ambassador to Viet Nam Tibor Baloghdi. It also demonstrates the strong political will of the two countries' high-level leaders to further deepen the comprehensive partnership established in 2018, contributing to enhancing mutual understanding.
Hungarian Ambassador to Viet Nam Tibor Baloghdi said that diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Hungary are built on a solid foundation of mutual respect, cooperation, and long-standing ties.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations on February 3, 1950, Hungary has consistently supported Viet Nam across many fields, and they have now become important partners of each other. Over the past decades, Hungary has played a vital role in training Viet Nam's workforce, especially in engineering, medicine, and natural sciences, with thousands of Vietnamese students having studied in the European nation.
Regarding key milestones in bilateral cooperation, Baloghdi highlighted the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership in 2018 as a significant step forward, reflecting both sides' commitment to strengthening multi-faceted cooperation, from trade and investment to education, healthcare, science, and technology.
Following the upgrade of the relations, bilateral trade has grown steadily, making Hungary one of Viet Nam's key partners in Central Europe. The two sides continue to benefit from this effective partnership.
Two-way trade turnover reached US$ 1 billion, with a significant growth rate of 17 percent over the past year. Many Hungarian businesses have been expanding their presence in Viet Nam in the fields of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, food, agriculture, and defense industry./.
