Pham reiterated that Viet Nam always treasures the relations with Hungary, the first comprehensive partner of Viet Nam in Central and Eastern Europe.
Despite negative impacts of complex global and regional developments, bilateral trade and investment cooperation has continued to grow positively, said the Prime Minister.
He welcomed the close coordination between both sides in making preparation for the 10th session of the Viet Nam–Hungary Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, scheduled to take place in Ha Noi in 2025.
The two sides discussed measures to foster bilateral cooperation in education, mechanical engineering, electronics, tourism, labor, and railway connectivity between Southeast Asia and Central and Eastern Europe.
Pham particularly emphasized Viet Nam's desire for Hungary's support in training high-quality human resources for operation of nuclear power plants - an area in which Hungary has strong expertise and Viet Nam has an urgent need.
đặc biệt nhấn mạnh mong muốn Hungary hỗ trợ Việt Nam đào tạo nguồn nhân lực chất lượng cao trong lĩnh vực vận hành nhà máy điện hạt nhân, vốn là thế mạnh của Hungary và Việt Nam đang có nhu cầu cấp bách; nhất trí việc hai bên rà soát khuôn khổ pháp lý cho hợp tác song phương, sớm đàm phán ký hiệp định về nhận trở lại công dân và Thỏa thuận hợp tác trong lĩnh vực lao động.
Pham took the occasion to suggest Hungary call on the remaining EU countries to soon ratify the EU-Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and urge the EU to lift "yellow card" on Viet Nam's seafood exports.
Péter, for his part, expressed his admiration for Viet Nam's socio-economic development achievements, asserting that Hungary expects to further strengthen traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Viet Nam, its foremost important partner in Southeast Asia.
With 50 years of experience in operating nuclear power plants, Hungary stands ready to work with and assist Viet Nam in training 1,000 experts for operation of nuclear power plants, considering it a strategic area of cooperation between the two countries, he stated.
Both sides agreed to review the legal framework for bilateral cooperation and accelerate negotiations on agreements on citizen readmission and labor cooperation.
The two sides agreed that the two countries share many similarities in foreign policy and should enhance meetings, exchanges, and cooperation at multilateral forums.
Peace, cooperation, and development remain the prevailing global trends, they noted, adding that disputes must be resolved via peaceful means based on international law, and interests of all peoples./.
