Hotline between Viet Nam People's Army, Royal Cambodian Armed Forces operational

VGP - A hotline between the General Staff of the Viet Nam People's Army (VPA) and the High Command of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) was put into use on August 15.

Sen. Lieut. Gen. Huynh Chien Thang, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the VPA said that Viet Nam always attaches importance to strengthening its good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability with Cambodia.

Defense cooperation has been developing more comprehensively and effectively, affirming its position as one of the major pillars in the bilateral ties, said Huynh.

The two sides agreed to deploy a hotline to discuss issues of mutual concern promptly. The hotline is expected to improve the efficiency of defense external affairs and promote friendship, solidarity, and cooperation.

The two sides will maintain a weekly communication testing and inspection regime, promptly resolving any arising problems.

General Vong Veasna, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the RCAF, affirmed that the hotline will contribute to fostering the relationship between the two armies./.
