Government Information and Communications Bureau founded
VGP - The Government has decided to rename the Viet Nam Government Portal as the Government Information and Communications Bureau (GICB).
The Government Information and Communications Bureau is the new name of the Viet Nam Government Portal (VGP)
The Government has promulgated Decree No. 196/2026/ND-CP on functions, tasks, powers, and structural organization of the Government Office.
Under the Decree, the Government decided to rename the Viet Nam Government Portal (VGP) as the Government Information and Communications Bureau.
With this new Decree, the Government Office shall comprise 17 units:
1. General Department
2. Department of Law
3. Department of General Economics
4. Department of Industry
5. Department of Agriculture
6. Department of Scientific, Educational, Social, and Cultural Affairs
7. Department of International Relations
8. Department of Internal Affairs
9. Department of Public Service Organization.
10. Department of Monitoring inspection work (Department I)
11. National Assembly, Local Government and Mass Organizations Department
12. Secretariat and Editorial Department
13. Department of Administrative Affairs
14. Department of Organization and Personnel
15. Digital Transformation Bureau
16. Administration - Finance Bureau
17. Government Information and Communications Bureau.
Decree No. 196/2026/ND-CP takes effect from June 1, 2026./.
