General Secretary To Lam starts State visit to Cambodia

He is accompanied by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man; Chairman of its Organization Commission Le Minh Hung; President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Minister of National Phan Van Giang; Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang; Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Tran Sy Thanh; Chairman of the Central Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization Trinh Van Quyet; Chief of the Party Central Committee's Office Pham Gia Tuc; and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung.

During his one-day visit, General Secretary To Lam will co-chair a high-level meeting between the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP).

General Secretary To Lam will also attend the meeting of the top Party leaders of Viet Nam, Cambodia and Laos.

The visit carries special political significance, reflecting the fact that the Party and the State of Viet Nam as well as General Secretary To Lam attach great importance and give top priority to cultivating and advancing the fine neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability.

The visit will not only contribute to solidifying the political foundation for the Viet Nam-Cambodia relationship but also inject new momentum for promoting comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Cambodia, and among Viet Nam, Cambodia and Laos, for peace, stability and sustainable development in the region./.
