To reiterated that Viet Nam always places great importance on developing traditional friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation with Slovakia.
The Vietnamese people always bear in mind and are deeply grateful for the valuable support and assistance from the people of Slovakia during Viet Nam's struggle for independence and national reunification in the past, as well as its current efforts for socio-economic development and international integration, noted the Party leader.
He took the occasion to call on Slovakia to support the European Commission's removal of "yellow card" warning against Vietnamese seafood exports and encourage other EU countries to promptly ratify the EU-Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).
The Vietnamese leader expressed thanks to the Slovak government for recognizing the Vietnamese community in Slovakia as an ethnic minority.
Fico, for his part, hailed Viet Nam's role and position in the region and the world, asserting that Slovakia considers Viet Nam as a key partner in Southeast Asia.
He expressed his desire to continue promoting and expanding cooperation with Viet Nam across all sectors.
The Prime Minister proposed that both sides coordinate to organize cultural and artistic activities such as cultural days, art exhibitions, film weeks, performances, and sports exchanges in 2025 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.
He also expressed hope that Viet Nam would consider granting visa exemptions for Slovak citizens to further facilitate tourism and cooperation in investment, business, and trade between the two countries.
Both leaders vowed to strengthen cooperation across all areas and enhance political trust and mutual understanding.
They undescored the importance of boosting economic cooperation, and leveraging complementary strengths in the context of global and regional changes.
The two sides pledged to bolster collaboration in education, science and technology, innovation, and student exchanges between the two countries, and promote cultural and tourism cooperation.
They vowedd to work closely together to address regional and global issues, supporting each other at multilateral forums such as the United Nations, and ASEAN-EU frameworks./.
