These systems, funded by Viet Nam, will serve agricultural production in the beneficiary districts, facilitating the production of commodities to gradually eliminate poverty for local residents in Anouvong and Thathom districts.

Viengsan Chantha, Chief of the Office of the Laos-Viet Nam Cooperation Committee, expressed his sincere thanks to the Vietnamese Party, Government and people for their support over the past years, particularly in aiding Lao localities to deal with infrastructure development challenges.

Viengsan Chantha underscored the critical need for joint efforts to effectively utilise these irrigation systems that meets the expectations of both Parties and Governments, ultimately contributing to strengthening the special bond and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Viet Nam.

The project costs more than VND159.2 billion (US$6.63 million), with the Vietnamese Government contributing over VND157.2 billion and Laos providing the remaining funds./.
