First foreign leaders send congratulations to newly-elected President
VGP - Leaders of Laos, Venezuela, and Nicaragua have sent letters of congratulations to Luong Cuong on his election as President of Viet Nam by the 15th National Assembly on October 21.
In his letter, General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith affirmed that the election reflects the trust and high regard from the Party, State, and people of Viet Nam to Luong Cuong.
He expressed his belief that President Luong Cuong and other Vietnamese Party and State leaders will continue to lead Viet Nam and its people to greater achievements in the ongoing reform process, which aims to transform Viet Nam into a modern, industrialized country with wealthy people, strong nation, and a democratic, just, and civilized society.
Thongloun Sisoulith also expressed his wish to work closely with President Luong Cuong to further nurture the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive collaboration between the Vietnamese and Lao Parties, states, and people, bringing practical benefits to both nations and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Meanwhile, in his congratulatory message posted on Instagram, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro Moros extended his warmest congratulations to the newly-elected Vietnamese President.
He vows to continue consolidating and strengthening the Venezuela-Viet Nam relations.
In their congratulatory messages widely shared on social media accounts and media outlets, Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo sent wishes of peace and prosperity to the people of Viet Nam.
They reaffirm the commitment to continue strengthening the long-lasting friendly and united relationship between the two peoples and the two governments./.
