National Assembly to approve 15 laws, elect new President
VGP – The National Assembly will debate and approve 15 laws and comment on other 13 bills during its 8th working session that opened in Ha Noi on Monday morning.
The laws to be approved include: Law on Notarization (revised); Law on Trade Union (revised); Law on Cultural Heritage (revised); Law on Geology and Minerals; Law on Human Trafficking Prevention and Combat (revised); Law on Fires Prevention and Fighting and Rescue; Law on People's Air Defense; Law on Urban and Rural Planning; Law on Justice for Minors; Law on Value-added Tax (revised); Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Pharmacy; Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Vietnamese People's Army Officers; Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance; Law amending and supplementing a number of the Law on Planning/Law on Investment/Law on Public-Private Partnership Investment/Law on Bidding; Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Securities/Law on Accounting/Law on Independent Audit/Law on State Budget/Law on Management and Use of Public Property/Law on Tax Management/Law on National Reserve.
Bills to be brought to discussion are: Law on Digital Technology Industry; Law on Data; Law on Electricity (revised); Law on Public Investment (revised); Law on Chemicals (revised); Law on Teachers; Law on Management and Use of State Capital Invested at Enterprises; Law on Excise Tax (revised); Law on Corporate Income Tax (revised); Law on Employment (revised); Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Oversight Activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils; Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Advertisement; Law amending and supplementing a number of the Law on Standards and Technical Regulations.
The legislators will also scrutinize socio-economic and State budget reports for 2024 and approve socio-economic development plan for 2025; judicial and anti-corruption reports.
They will elect President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, consider and approve a national target program on cultural development for 2025-2035 period.
The National Assembly will also consider and approve investment policy for the North-South High-speed Railway Project./.
