Dunamu regards Viet Nam as strategic market for Crypto expansion
VGP - Dunamu, South Korea's largest centralized crypto asset exchange operator and the world’s third-largest by trading volume, has identified Viet Nam as a strategic market with high growth potential, alongside its long-standing partner, Hana Financial Group.

During a meeting in Ha Noi on July 29, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged Executive Vice President of Dunamu Kim Hyoung-nyon and Vice Chairman of Hana Financial Group Lee Eunhung to cement and deepen cooperation and share expertise with Viet Nam in the digital and cryptocurrency sectors .
The Prime Minister praised Dunamu's technological and financial capabilities and welcomed its plans to explore investment opportunities in Viet Nam's digital asset ecosystem.
The Government leader also acknowledged Hana Financial Group's contributions to Viet Nam's economic development through its strategic partnership with the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB).
Pham revealed that the Vietnamese Government is actively developing a legal framework to support the launch of a pilot digital asset market.
He called on Dunamu to collaborate with local agencies and organizations to support legal development, workforce training, infrastructure building, technology transfer, and the operation of crypto exchanges. These initiatives, he said, would ensure regulatory oversight—including tax management—while enabling healthy market growth.
Dunamu currently commands 80 percent of South Korea's crypto trading market, with over 6 million users, a 2024 trading volume exceeding US$1.1 trillion, and digital asset holdings worth over US$80 billion.
Hana Financial Group, known for its strong financial position and global fintech expertise, and Dunamu both expressed willingness to share their digitalization experience and technological strengths to support Viet Nam's transition into a competitive digital economy./.
