Da Nang’s balloon festival to greet int’l visitors
VGP - The central city of Da Nang will host a hot air balloon festival on March 27 to celebrate the resumption of international tourism activities and welcome the first international flights to the city.

The balloon festival will showcase 17 colorful hot air balloons which will fly over the APEC Sculpture Garden at Bach Dang Street
The event, to be organized by the Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT) and the municipal Department of Tourism, will be broadcast live on Da Nang Fantastic City fan page.
The same day, the city will welcome the first two international flights from Singapore and Bangkok (Thailand) after the country opened borders to foreign arrivals from March 15.
The municipal authorities also planned to orrganize a range of sporting events this year to boost tourism.
Specifically, the Ironman 70.3 Viet Nam, and the Sprint and Ironkids competitions will take place on May 7-9.
In June, a national boat race will be organized in the city’s iconic Han river, along with a colour run scheduled for June 10-12 with about 5,000 participants.
So far, over 70 percent of accommodation establishments, tourist attractions, and transport firms in Da Nang have resumed operation.
Da Nang targets to attract 3.32 million domestic tourists and 180,000 foreign visitors this year./.
