Da Nang airport's international termina receives five-star rating from SkyTrax
VGP - The Da Nang airport’s international terminal has officially become the first and only terminal in Viet Nam to receive a five-star rating from SkyTrax thanks to its efforts in improving facilities and services to enhance passenger experience.
It is one of the three terminals around the world to meet the five-star standards, only nine months after being recognized as a four-star terminal.
Earlier, on December 11, the Da Nang International Airport's Terminal became the first in Southeast Asia to receive the Welcome Chinese certification.
The terminal has been awarded a Gold ranking, which is the highest among the three grades-Silk, Jade, Gold of the Welcome Chinese certificate issued by the Beijing-based research organization China Tourism Academy under the China National Tourism Administration.
Since 2019, infrastructure and technological facilities of the Da Nang international terminal have been synchronously upgraded in an effort to optimize the passenger service, a step to reach the four-star standards.
The upgrade involves building green space landscape, installing electronic board system E-Standee at all departure gates, and developing children's play area.
Also, heed has been paid to supporting technology equipment such as automatic check-in, baggage handling and boarding pass control systems. Along with that, facilities at the terminal are also continuously expanded to bring practical and timely support to all subjects on both arrival and departure directions.
Free baby strollers, support counters information, private medical rooms and prayer sites are also made available here.
In terms of experiences, the terminal is also a pioneer in bringing local culture and traditional performances into the diversification of entertainment activities.
According to statistics from the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, air travel is still the main source of visitors to Da Nang City.
In 2023, the city welcomed more than 40.000 flights, estimated to reach 6.3 million visitors, an increase of nearly 1.5 times compared to 2022 and equal to 82 percent compared to 2019./.
