Cuban Prime Minister to pay official visit to Viet Nam
VGP - Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz will pay an official friendship visit to Viet Nam from September 28 to October 2.
The visit is made at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
On December 2, 1960, Cuba became the first country in the Western hemisphere to establish diplomatic relations with Viet Nam.
Since then the two countries have nurtured a special traditional relationship which serves as a foundation for cooperation across all sectors, especially economy, trade and investment.
The Viet Nam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee cooperation mechanism and other legal frameworks have created a momentum for development of all-round cooperation between the two countries.
The two nations inked a trade agreement in Ha Noi in November 2018 as part of an official visit to Viet Nam by the then President of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel.
Cuba is among 10 biggest trade partners of Viet Nam in America, with the two-way trade reached about US$200 million annually./.
