Base salary to increase by 8% from July 2026

VGP - The Politburo has agreed in principle to increase base salary by 8 percent from July 1, 2026, said Nguyen Duy Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Wage and Social Insurance under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

This means the monthly base salary for public employees will be increased to VND2.53 million (US$96)  from current VND2.34 million.
