Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters with Czech Republic ratified
VGP - President Vo Van Thuong has signed a decision ratifying the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between Viet Nam and the Czech Republic.
Viet Nam and the Czech Republic set up diplomatic relations over seven decades ago and the bilaterla ties have been growing stronger and increasingly comprehensive.
The Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic has been recognized as the 14th ethnic minority group in the country.
The Czech Republic inherited the agreement on mutual legal assistance in civil and criminal matters that Czechoslovakia and Viet Nam signed in 1982, which provides a legal framework to deal with requests for legal assistance in criminal matters over the past years.
The ratification of the agreement aims to realize the Party and State’s policy on strengthening international cooperation in legal and judicial fields, and perfect the legal mechanism for protecting the rights and legitimate interests of Vietnamese citizens and entities abroad, in line with Resolution No. 27-NQ/TW dated November 9, 2022 adopted by the 13th Party Central Committee’s sixth meeting on continuing the building and improvement of the law-governed socialist State of Viet Nam in the new period./.
