WEF Founder and Executive Chairman visits Viet Nam
VGP - Prof. Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) is on a two-day visit to Viet Nam's Ho Chi Minh City.
During his visit from October 5-6, Schwab had a meeting with Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Municipal People's Committee Phan Van Mai and visited the Viet Nam Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR).
The Center, established by the WEF in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Municipal People's Committee in 2024, is the second center of its kind in Southeast Asia, with a focus on green growth.
The C4IR Viet Nam joins a global network of centers on five continents that connect public and private sector stakeholders to maximize the benefits of emerging technologies while minimizing risks.
Klaus spoke highly of Ho Chi Minh City's dynamic growth, saying the C4IR Viet Nam would help promote cooperation between the WEF and the city, particularly in human resource development and green transition.
On the occasion, Prof. Schwab also met with young businessmen, startup representatives and students in Ho Chi Minh City, during which he talked about knowledge economy.
Young people should be equipped with new knowledge of the fourth industrial revolution to contribute to building a green, clean and sustainable economy, stressed Prof. Schwab.
