The pair agreed that cooperation in key technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors should be further strengthened based on solid diplomatic and economic trust.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho stressed that this visit holds significant importance in maintaining and strongly promoting the Viet Nam–South Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership across all areas. In particular, cooperation in science and technology has emerged as a new pillar, delivering initial positive results.

He affirmed that Viet Nam expects the visit to create fresh momentum to further deepen, enhance the effectiveness, and bring greater substance to bilateral relations in the coming period.

As Viet Nam is focusing on implementing its strategic development goals in the new phase, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung emphasized that the country consistently values and seeks to further strengthen cooperation with the Republic of Korea based on trust, partnership, and shared development.

He called on the Korean side to continue its support and active contributions to advancing bilateral ties in line with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework; to maintain exchanges of delegations and high-level as well as all-level contacts; and to promote cooperation in a more balanced, sustainable, and mutually beneficial manner.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister encouraged Korean enterprises to increase new investments and expand their operations in Viet Nam, particularly in priority sectors such as infrastructure development, high-tech electronics manufacturing, semiconductors, big data, biotechnology, and smart cities. He also urged ministries and agencies of both countries to continue close coordination, effectively operate cooperation mechanisms, and accelerate the translation of policy agreements into concrete projects that deliver tangible results.

In reply, Baek, who accompanies President Lee Jae Myung on a four-day State visit to Viet Nam, suggested that the two countries jointly support the Korea-Viet Nam Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST), established through bilateral cooperation, so it can develop into a global innovation hub that nurtures science and technology talent and leads industrial innovation.

The Korean guest also said that Viet Nam's young talent has strong potential to grow into the next generation of key technology specialists in areas such as AI and software, and urged expanding cooperation on talent development.

He was convinced that science and technology will become the key driving force for advancing toward a future-oriented relationship./.
