Vietjet to open two new routes to Taiwan

VGP - Budget carrier Vietjet will open two new routes connecting Phu Quoc island and Taiwan's Taichung and Kaohsiung.

The Phu Quoc-Taichung route will serve passengers from June 13, 2024, with three return flights per week, on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Meanwhile, Phu Quoc-Kaohsiung route will be launched on June 14, 2024, wwith four return flights per week, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

The Pearl island of Phu Quoc in the Southern province of Kien Giang, is the top tourist destination in Viet Nam with its stunning long beaches including Sao Beach, Rach Vem, as well as famous attractions such as Hon Thom Nature Park, Kiss Bridge Phu Quoc, and Ham Ninh fishing village.

Recently, Phu Quoc island was ranked 4th among the most affordable tropical destinations to visit around the world, according to travel experts from Travel+Leisure magazine.

DestinAsian magazine, a prestigious travel and lifestyle magazine for travel enthusiasts around the world, named Phu Quoc one of the top 10 most beautiful beach destinations in Asia.

During January-April this year, Taiwan was Viet Nam's third largest tourist source market with 419,000 visitors, only behind South Korea and China.

Tourism businesses and associations of Taiwan and Viet Nam have been enhancing cooperation in recent years with a view to raising the annual number of visitors to each other's destinations to 2 million in the near future./.
