Vietjet announces new Da Nang-Ahmedabad direct air route
VGP - Budget carrier Vietjet Air has announced the launch of its new route from the central city of Da Nang to Ahmedabad (India) and welcomed its 200 millionth passenger.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the launching ceremony which took place within the framework of the Viet Nam-India Business Forum in New Delhi on July 31.
The new air route is scheduled to start in October this year.
Vietjet is currently the airline with the most direct flights between the two nations, with 56 flights per week on 7 routes. The total number of passengers between Viet Nam and India via Vietjet reached nearly 1.3 million.
Vietjet is the pioneer airline in launching a direct flight connecting India's capital New Delhi with Viet Nam's capital Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City since December 2019.
According to the General Statistics Office of Viet Nam, the number of Indian arrivals to Viet Nam in 2023 exceeded 390,000, ranking 9th among the top 10 markets sending the most visitors to Viet Nam, with an average growth rate of 45 percent per month.
Direct flights between Viet Nam and India have helped reduce travel time for passengers, enhancing connectivity between the two countries./.
