Viet Nam won't change GDP growth target for 2025: Prime Minister
VGP – Viet Nam will not change the GDP growth target of at least 8 percent for 2025, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Pham made the above statement while addressing the Cabinet meeting on Sunday morning.
The Vietnamese economy grew by 6.93 percent between January and March this year, the highest growth rate in the first quarter since 2020, according to the Ministry of Finance.
Regarding the U.S. Administration's announcement to impose a 46 percent reciprocal tariff on imports from Viet Nam, Pham said Viet Nam highly respects and resolves the issues concerned by the U.S., and negotiates with the U.S. on the basis of the high-level agreement reached by General Secretary To Lam and President Donald Trump during their phone conversation on April 4.
Pham tasked Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc and relevant agencies to develop concrete negotiation plans.
He also urged the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and relevant ministries, agencies and localities to focus on removing bottlenecks against and create favorable conditions for foreign investors, including those from the U.S. to do business in Viet Nam.
During the phone conversation between General Secretary To Lam and President Donald Trump, the two leaders reiterated their wish to further bolster bilateral cooperation for the benefits of both countries, and contribute to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.
The two leaders also shared the view that the relationship between Viet Nam and the U.S. has been thriving in many areas.
To affirmed that Viet Nam stood ready to negotiate with the U.S. to reduce the tariffs on U.S. exports to Viet Nam to 0%, and requested the U.S. to do the same for Vietnamese exports to the U.S.
He also said that Viet Nam would continue to import more goods from the U.S., and create more favorable conditions for American companies to further invest in Viet Nam.
The two leaders also agreed to maintain discussions to soon sign an agreement between the two countries to realize the aforementioned commitments./.
