Hosted by VAPA and sponsored by the International Federation of Photographic Art (Fédération Internationale de l'art photographique, FIAP) and the Image Without Frontier (Image sans Frontière - ISF), the contest was launched on September 12, 2022, and ended on January 10, 2023.

This was a practical activity to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the traditional day of Viet Nam's photography (March 15, 1953 – 2023).

Speaking at the ceremony, VAPA Chairwoman Tran Thi Thu Dong said the biennial contest had become attractive for photographers worldwide.

According to the Chairwoman, over 10,000 entries by 1,073 photographers from 32 countries and territories worldwide were submitted to the contest, with four topics: color freedom, monochrome freedom, children and ideas.

The works are evaluated by an independent online method by four prestigious judging panels with high titles. Each panel has two international judges and one Vietnamese judge, ensuring objectivity.

The Organizing Committee awarded 71 medals, including 12 gold medals. The best author VN-23 belonged to André Boto (Portugal) when he won 5 gold medals. Vietnamese photographers won 45 prizes at the event, including four gold medals.

As many as 360 excellent photos were selected for the exhibition at the Temple of Literature.

VAPA Chairwoman Tran Thi Thu Dong added that the exhibition served as a cultural exchange programme among countries, further strengthening international solidarity for peace, friendship and development./.
