Welcoming the delegation to Viet Nam, Phan noted that cooperation between Viet Nam and the U.S. has continued to expand positively across a wide range of areas in recent years.

He highlighted the two sides' growing parliamentary cooperation through regular delegation exchanges, meetings between specialized committees, and the sharing of experience in legislation, oversight and policymaking.

These activities have helped deepen mutual understanding and political trust while creating a favorable legal framework for implementing bilateral cooperation agreements.

Alongside progress in economic, trade and investment ties, the Deputy Prime Minister also acknowledged U.S. support for Viet Nam in addressing war legacies, including dioxin remediation projects and assistance for disadvantaged groups and people with disabilities.

Phan expressed hope that U.S. lawmakers would continue acting as important bridges for promoting bilateral cooperation in areas such as the economy, trade, education and training, defense technology and industry, pilot training, and English-language training for Vietnamese military personnel.

For their part, the U.S. lawmakers said they were pleased to visit Viet Nam and witness the country's socio-economic achievements and ongoing efforts to improve living standards. They noted that their trip was aimed at strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries and peoples.

The delegation affirmed its commitment to supporting stronger relations between Viet Nam and the U.S., particularly in the priority areas mentioned by the Vietnamese side.

During the meeting, both sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern, including security and defense matters./.
