It was an important working session to discuss key principles, the scope, and the roadmap for bilateral negotiations.

Nguyen, who is also head of the Government negotiation team on trade issues with the U.S., reiterated that Viet Nam places great importance on developing its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the U.S. and wishes to promote economic and trade relations in a balanced, stable, sustainable, and effective manner.

Vietnamese ministries and sectors stand ready to engage in negotiations to address issues of U.S. concern and to work together with the U.S. to find reasonable, and mutually beneficial solutions, in the spirit of harmonized interests and shared risks, told the minister.

Greer hailed the agreement between the two countries to enter into bilateral trade negotiations, expressing his confidence that both sides will soon reach appropriate solutions to promote stable and mutually beneficial economic and trade relations.

Both sides vowed to maintain regular exchanges at both the head-of-delegation and technical levels to accelerate the negotiation process on specific issues./.
