Viet Nam, United Nations work together to promote multilateralism
VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday met with President of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly Philemon Yang in France's Nice.

Prime Minister Pham, who is in France to attend the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference, affirmed Viet Nam's unwavering support for multilateralism and the central role of the United Nations in global governance.
Pham stressed the need for the global community to strengthen international solidarity, uphold international law and comprehensive approach to address current urgent global issues such as climate change, depletion of natural resources, and population ageing.
The Prime Minister expressed his wish that Yang would continue support for stronger relations between Viet Nam and the United Nations, including continued implementation of programs and projects in Viet Nam and training human resource for the Southeast Asian nation.
Pham also suggested Yang would continue efforts to further deepen the traditional friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Cameroon, affirming that Viet Nam stands ready to assist Cameroon in agriculture development, and that Vietnamese enterprises, including Viettel, are willing to expand investment in the African country.
The Government chief took the occasion to invite Yang to visit Viet Nam in the coming time.
Yang, for his side, highly valued the fine relations between Viet Nam and the United Nations, pledging to work with Viet Nam to promote adherence to the United Nations Charter, international law and multilateralism.
He praised Viet Nam's socio-economic development achievements and its active and dynamic role and increasingly high position on the international arena.
Yang, who served as Prime Minister of Cameroon from 2009 to 2019, also promised to support stronger relations between Viet Nam and Cameroon./.
