Viet Nam treasures special traditional solidarity with Cuba: Party chief
VGP - Viet Nam always attaches great importance to and stays determined to deepen the special traditional solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Cuba, reiterated Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Nguyen made the above statement during his reception for a Cuba's high-ranking delegation led by President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernandez.
Expressing his delight at the positive development of ties between the two Parties and countries, Nguyen highly valued both sides' collaboration in organizing practical activities to mark the 50th anniversary of Cuban leader Fidel Castro's trip to the liberated zone in the south of Viet Nam, thus contributing to deepening the bilateral comprehensive cooperation.
Viet Nam remains consistent with its stance on solidarity and support for Cuba, opposing and calling for an end to the policy of blockade and embargo against the Caribbean country, the Vietnamese Party leader stated.
For his part, Esteban Lazo Hernandez said the Cuban leaders and people wish to further deepen and expand ties between the two Parties and countries for the benefit of their people and for socialism, peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
He underscored the strategic significance of his country's relationship with Viet Nam and thanked Viet Nam for transferring technology, sending experts and offering timely support to Cuba during its difficult period.
Cuban Government welcomes and will create favourable conditions for the Vietnamese firms operating in Cuba, and boost joint work between enterprises, organisations, and localities of the two countries, said Esteban Lazo Hernandez.
On the occasion, the Vietnamese Party leader invited Cuban revolutionary leader Gen. Raúl Castro, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President Díaz-Canel to visit Viet Nam, saying that he looks forward to welcoming them to the country soon./.
