Viet Nam tops SEA Games medal tally with 205 golds

VGP - The Vietnamese sports delegation topped the medal tally at SEA Games 31 with 205 golds, 125 silvers, and 116 bronzes.

With the triumph, the Vietnamese sports delegation set a new record in the number of gold medals a country secured in the SEA Games over the past 25 years.  

Especially, Vietnamese women's football team and men's football team successfully defended the SEA Games gold medals after beating rivals Thailand in the final fixtures.

Of the gold medals won, athletics pocketed the largest number of golds with 22, followed by wrestling with 17, swimming (11), wushu (ten), Taekwondo (nine), Canoeing (eight), Kurash (seven), Pencak Silat (six), Karate (seven), and Chess (seven).  

SEA Games 31 will wrapp up today with a closing ceremony. 

Cambodia will be the host country of the 32nd SEA Games in 2023./.
