Viet Nam targets to develop 1,000 pioneering enterprises during 2026–2030

VGP - The Prime Minister has approved a program to develop 1,000 pioneering enterprises in the 2026–2030 period.

The program aims to develop a group of exemplary and pioneering enterprises in the private sector featuring high labor productivity and strong technological capabilities, regional and international competitiveness, and social responsibility.

It also targets to establish core enterprises in key industries and sectors, thereby contributing to enhancing national competitiveness, promoting sustainable development, and driving Viet Nam's private sector as the most important engine of the national economy.

Among 1,000 pioneering enterprises, at least 15 percent will be women-owned, 20 largest private enterprises are expected to participate in global value chains.

Pioneering enterprises are expected to allocate an average of at least 3 percent of their revenues to research and development (R&D) activities, and each is encouraged to possess at least one patent, industrial property right, or utility solution.

Sectors and fields to be supported

The program focuses on supporting enterprises in the following sectors and fields:

1. Processing and manufacturing industries; supporting industries; and industries producing key national industrial products.

2. High-tech agriculture, circular agriculture, and deep processing of agricultural, forestry, fishery, and food products.

3. Science and technology, innovation, high technology, production of core technologies, strategic technologies, and digital technologies.

4. Green transition and sustainable business practices./.
