Pham reiterated that Viet Nam places importance to the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, regarding Russia as a top priority partner.

Viet Nam expects to continue enhancing substantive and effective cooperation with Russia across all sectors, including atomic energy for peaceful purposes, for the sake of both nations, and for peace, stability and development in the region and the world, asserted the Prime Minister.

Viet Nam does not have a policy to develop nuclear power, but continues to explore the possibility and consider nuclear energy as an important solution to reaching the net-zero emissions target by 2050, and ensuring energy security in favor of national development, he shared.

The host proposed that the two sides continue to foster cooperation in the field of nuclear science and technology research for peaceful purposes, especially in ensuring energy and serving people's livelihoods while expanding collaboration to specific fields such as industry, agriculture, medicine, and transportation.

He recommended Russia and Rosatom continue supporting Viet Nam in training human resources in nuclear science and operating the Da Lat Nuclear Research Reactor so it can run for about 8-10 more years.

Both sides should work closely to ensure the quality and progress of the project on building a nuclear science and technology research center in the southern province of Dong Nai, he suggested.

The Prime Minister welcomed the group's proposal to build a nuclear medicine center and cooperate in research and development of wind power.

Likhachev, for his part, affirmed that Russia and Rosatom wish to continue enhancing cooperation with Viet Nam in areas proposed by the Prime Minister, especially research on nuclear science, including atomic power, nuclear medicine, and applications in transportation, and others like wind power development.

Rosatom stands ready to share experience with and assist Viet Nam in improving capacity, training human resources, and promoting the localization in these fields./.
