Viet Nam, Russia hold political consultation
VGP - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang reaffirmed Viet Nam stands ready to participate in the international community's mediation efforts to seek peaceful solutions to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Le made the above statement at the Viet Nam-Russia political consultation which was co-chaired by her Russian counterpart A. Rudenko in Ha Noi on February 21.
Both sides held in-depth discussions on measures to strengthen relations between the two foreign ministries, as well as international and regional issues of mutual concern.
The two sides expressed their satisfaction with the positive developments in the Viet Nam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership, including regular delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels, especially at the high level.
They vowed to maintain and promote cooperation across all fields, including politics, economy and trade, defense and security, science and technology, education and training, culture, and tourism to fully leverage each country's potential and meet their development needs.
The host and the guest emphasized the need for the effective implementation of the Viet Nam-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement.
They pledged to continue efforts to advance the implementation of agreed-upon tasks, agreements, and prioritized cooperation projects, and make preparation for the successful high-level visits in 2025—a significant year marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and many major national celebrations in both countries.
Both sides underscored the necessity of further enhancing the exchange of perspectives and information, and boosting coordination and mutual support at international organizations and multilateral forums, including the United Nations, making contributions to maintaining peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region and globally while safeguarding the interests of their peoples.
The Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister suggested Russia consider visa exemptions for Vietnamese citizens holding ordinary passports to facilitate tourism, family visits, and business opportunities in Russia, thereby contributing to the promotion of the bilateral relations.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs will closely work with relevant authorities and the Russian side to create favorable conditions and provide consular protection for Russian citizens living, working, and studying in Viet Nam, asserted Le./.
