Viet Nam resolved to build 5,000 km of expressway by 2050
VGP - The Government is determined to build additional 3,000 km of expressways by 2030 and 5,000 km by 2050, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh told legislators Thursday.
In a bid to realize the above goal, the Government submitted a proposal to the National Assembly to allocate additional VND 339 trillion for the 2021-2025, said Le.
Major expressway projects planned for 2021-2025 include the second phase of the eastern North-South Expressway (729km), Chau Doc-Can Tho-Soc Trang expressway (155 km); Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot expressway (117 km); Bien Hoa-Vung Tau expressway ( 53.7 km); Ring road 4 (112.8 km) in Ha Noi and Ring road 3 (76.34 km) in Ho Chi Minh City
The Deputy Prime Minister said the Government is resolved to put the whole Eastern North-South Expressway (1,383 km) from the northern province of Lang Son to the southern province of Ca Mau by 2025.
To date, Viet Nam has built 1,290 km of expressways./.
