Viet Nam ranks 58th in global English proficiency ranking
VGP - Viet Nam ranks 58th out of 113 non-native English-speaking countries and territories in the global English proficiency ranking for adults, according to Education First (EF).
The Southeast Asian nation scored 505 out of 800, three points higher than last year and three points higher than the global average, keeping it in the “moderate proficiency” category along with 32 others.
The top English proficiency region in Viet Nam is the Red River Delta, with Ha Noi having the highest index of 538. The English proficiency index of Vietnamese men is 513, higher than that of women at 498.
Viet Nam ranks 7th among 23 Asian countries and territories in the ranking, which is unchanged from last year.
EF analyzed the results of 2.2 million adults who took its SET English tests during last year.
