This marks the fifth consecutive year that VNU has remained among the world's 700–800 leading universities. It has also maintained its Visibility indicator within the world's top 600 higher education institutions for the fourth consecutive year since 2023.

In the Visibility criterion, which measures the impact and reach of a university's website and online presence, the VNU ranked 578th globally.

In this ranking, the VNU once again secured the No. 1 position among Vietnamese higher education institutions.

Webometrics is an automated university ranking system that assesses institutions based on their level of digitalization and the global visibility of their academic resources. Rankings are determined using three key indicators: the impact of institutional websites and online information, the openness of scholarly resources on Google Scholar, and the number of scientific publications cited in the Scopus database.

The current methodology comprises three weighted indicators: Visibility (50 percent), measuring the impact of the university's web presence; Excellence (40 percent), assessing research performance and scientific excellence; and Transparency (10 percent), evaluating the openness of academic output.

Earlier, on June 24, Times Higher Education (THE) released the 2026 Impact Rankings, in which VNU was placed in the 601–800 global band and assessed across 12 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Previously, on June 18, VNU also achieved its fourth consecutive year of improvement in the QS World University Rankings 2027, rising to the 751–760 global band—the highest position the university has ever attained in the QS rankings./.
