Viet Nam, Iran step up cooperation in law enforcement
VGP - Minister of Public Security To Lam and Iranian chief commander of Law Enforcement Command Ahmad Reza Radan signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two agencies in Ha Noi on May 14.
At the talks held on the same day, Minister To Lam highlighted the significance of the Iranian chief commander's visit to Viet Nam, adding that the visit contributes to consolidating the relations between the two countries and cooperation between the two agencies.
Both sides vowed to enhance all-level delegation exchanges, especially high-ranking ones to explore potential for bilateral cooperation in the field of public security and social order.
They stressed the need to promote information exchange and professional coordination, and work to handle all types of transnational crimes and crimes involving citizens of the two countries.
The two officials agreed not to allow any organization or individual to take advantage of one country's territory to operate against the other and coordinate to protect the absolute safety of visits by senior leaders.
Both sides pledged to ensure security and safety for the headquarters of representative agencies and citizens of this country in the other's territory; and step up collaboration in the field of training to improve professional capacity and foreign languages, including Persian and Vietnamese./.
