Viet Nam, India commit to bolstering security cooperation
VGP - Minister of Public Security To Lam on Monday held talks with National Security Advisor (NSA) to the Prime Minister of India Ajit Doval, in New Dehli, on the occasion of his two-day official visit to India.
Both sides reaffirmed the commitment of deepening Viet Nam-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and pledged to boost linkages in fields of strategic issues, security and defense, making contributions to maintaining peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world.
They highlighted the importance of maintaining and fostering peace, stability, security, safety and freedom of aviation and navigation in the Indo-Pacific region as well as the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982).
Differences must be settled with peaceful measures in line with international law while it is vital to refrain from threat or use of force and from unilaterally changing the status quo, they noted.
