Foreign Minister meets Indonesian, Bruneian counterparts in India
VGP - Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son had bilateral meetings with Indonesian and Bruneian counterparts in New Delhi, India on June 16 within the framework of the Special ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (SAIFMM) held from June 16-17.
At the meeting with Indonesian FM Retno Marsudi, the two diplomats discussed measures to promote the bilateral relationship in the post-COVID-19 period, agreeing to join hands in preparing for high-level visits and the fourth meeting of the Viet Nam–Indonesia Bilateral Cooperation Committee this year.
The two ministers pledged to urge ministries and agencies to foster close coordination, particularly in economics and trade and coordinate in handling regional and global issues on the basis of respecting international law for peace, stability, cooperation and development.

The ministers were unanimous in enhancing high-level visits and organizing the second meeting of the Viet Nam-Brunei Joint Commission for bilateral cooperation in Brunei in the upcoming time.
The two sides agreed to resume the direct air route between Brunei's capital city Bandar Seri Begawan and Ho Chi Minh City to promote people-to-people exchanges.
Bui took the occasion to suggest Brunei create favorable conditions for Viet Nam's commodities, especially Halal-certified farm products, aquatic products and food to enter Brunei.
Pehin Yusof suggested the two nations strengthen cooperation in the aquatic sector and rice production in the context of global food security crisis.
