Viet Nam, Germany to sign Treaty on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters
VGP - Viet Nam and Germany have agreed to promote the signing of a Treaty on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.
The above agreement was reached during the meetings between Vietnamese Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang and leaders of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior and Federal Intelligence Service as part of the Vietnamese official's recent working visit to Germany.
Both sides also agreed to promote the signing of an extradition agreement and another agreement on transfer of sentenced persons.
The two sides agreed to prevent any organizations or individuals from using their territory to undermine the national security of the other country or to spread false information aimed at dividing the relationship between the two nations.
They vowed to enhance all-level delegation exchanges to share information and experiences in combating various types of crime as well as work closely in specialized investigations, verification, and the capture of wanted individuals.
Both sides pledged to enhance cooperation in professional training to enhance the capacity of law enforcement officials, particularly in the areas of drug crime prevention, high-tech crime, terrorism, forensic technical expertise, and immigration control.
Both sides will regularly consult and support each other at multilateral cooperation forums in the field of law enforcement and promote comprehensive cooperation to elevate the relationship between the two countries to a new level and work towards the future./.
