Viet Nam exports nearly 90 tons of fresh lychees
VGP - Viet Nam has sold nearly 90 tons of fresh lychees to the UK, France, Japan, Malaysia, Laos, and Cambodia since May, an increase of 200 percent on year.
According to the Department of Crop Production under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Viet Nam's lychee output reached 330,000 tons. Lychee is grown in many localities in Viet Nam, mostly in the north, with Bac Giang province known as the country's lychee growing hub.
Vietnamese fresh lychee is currently being exported to 30 markets worldwide including China, the United States, the EU, Japan, South Korea, ASEAN, and the Middle East.
Earlier, the first batch of Vietnamese seedless lychees exported to the UK arrived in the country on June 16. This was the fourth fruit from Viet Nam to be officially exported to the UK, after grapefruit, red grapefruit, and Cao Phong oranges./.
