Viet Nam demands Taiwan stop live-fire drills around Ba Binh Island
VGP – Taiwan's live-fire drills around Ba Binh Island are serious violations of Viet Nam's territorial sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, threatening peace, stability, maritime safety and security, inflicting tensions, and complicating the situation in the East Sea.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang made the above statement in reply to reporters' query on Viet Nam's response to the live-fire drills conducted by Taiwan around Ba Binh Island belonging to Viet Nam's Truong Sa archipelago, from June 28-29.
Viet Nam resolutely opposes and demands Taiwan stop the live-fire drills and not repeat similar violations in the future, Le said.
She went on to say that Viet Nam's stance on Taiwan's live-fire drills around Ba Binh Island is clear, consistent and repeatedly affirmed over the past years./.
