Viet Nam completes reconstruction of three landslide-ravaged villages in Lao Cai
VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Sunday attended a ceremony to mark the complete rescontruction of three landslide-ravaged villages in the northern province of Lao Cai.
These villages are Lang Nu in Bao Yen district’s Phuc Khanh communune, Nam Tong in Bac Ha district’s Nam Luc commune, and Kho Vang in Bac Ha district’s Coc Lau commune.
In November this year, landslides induced by a storm left 84 dead and injured and swept houses away.
During an inspection tour to Lang Nu village, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh ordered authorities to complete the resconstruction of the three villages by December 31, 2024 with a view to leave no one behind.
Local authorities began reconstruction of Lang Nu village on September 21, invloving the building of 40 two-storey houses; Nam Tong village on September 22, involving the building of 15 houses along with cultural, school, water and electricity facilities
The reconstruction of Kho Vang village started on September 21, involving the building of 35 houses along with cultural facilities.
Addressing the inuaguration ceremony, Pham spoke highly of the efforts made by local authorities as well as financial contributions from various organizations and individuals nationwide.
The rescontruction of these villages indicates the national solidarity and the fact that nothing is impossible.
He urged the local authorities to ensure livelihoods for the residents of these villages while calling on the residents to work together to build happy, clean, green and prosperous villages./.
