Viet Nam, China to hold 14th meeting of steering committee for bilateral cooperation
VGP - Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh will co-chair the 14th meeting of the Steering Committee for Viet Nam–China Bilateral Cooperation scheduled on July 12-13 in Nanning city of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The visit will be made at the invitation of Chinese State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also Chairman of the steering committee for China - Vietnam cooperation
The visit aims to demonstrate mutual determination to maintain close exchange and contacts between the two Parties, countries, consolidate political trust, advance the bilateral ties in a practical manner for the sake of mutual benefits, said Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai.
In addition, the two sides will also review outcomes of cooperation from the previous meeting which took place last September and discuss key orientations and specific measures to boost ties in the coming time.
China is Viet Nam’s largest trade partner. Meanwhile, Viet Nam remains China’s biggest trade partner in ASEAN.
Last year, two-way trade hit US$165.8 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 24.6 percent in 2021 and US$ 64.06 billion in the first five months of 2022 (up 13.3 percent).
As of this June, China ranked sixth out of 139 countries and territories investing in Viet Nam with total registered capital of US$ 22.31 billion.
