Viet Nam, Cambodia beef up friendship and cooperation
VGP - The Viet Nam-Cambodia and Cambodia-Viet Nam Friendship Associations convened the 5th gathering for friendship and cooperation between the two peoples in Viet Nam’s southeastern province of Binh Phuoc on November 6.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh stated that the Vietnamese Party, State, and people treasure the sound neighborliness, traditional friendship, and comprehensive cooperation with Cambodia.
Given complicated and unpredictable changes across the world, Pham called for more profound understanding of the strategic importance and vital significance of Viet Nam-Cambodia relations.
He praised the organization of the gathering this year in Binh Phuoc and the Central Highland province of Dak Nong, the two landmark locations with historical imprints in the countries’ people-to-people friendship.
Highlighting the significance of people-to-people diplomacy, Pham urged the friendship associations of the two countries to cement and deepen mutual understanding of the peoples, particularly the youth, on the Viet Nam-Cambodia relationship serving its growth in contribution to each nation’s prosperity and the region’s peace, stability and development.
Cambodian Deputy Prime Men Sam An stressed that the bilateral diplomatic relations with a history of 55 years have grown rapidly in all fields, especially in the new period.
She also urged the two friendship associations to work harder in implementing the memorandum of understanding on cooperation for 2022-2027.
The gathering is part of activities jointly organized by both Viet Nam and Cambodia to mark the 55th founding anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic ties.
