The Vietnamese Government chief made the point while receiving representatives from the Romania – Viet Nam Friendship Association and friendship organizations in Bucharest on January 21 (local time) as part of his official to the European country.

He expressed the pleasure to meet representatives of Romanian friendship associations and friends who have made contributions to cementing and deepening solidarity, friendship and understanding between the two countries.

Over the past nearly 75 years, generations of Vietnamese and Romanian people have continuously built and nurtured a good traditional friendship, based on mutual understanding and trust, as well as support for mutual development.

Via the official visit, Prime Minister Pham expects to strengthen multifaceted cooperation between Viet Nam and Romania and create a new momentum for the bilateral relations.

During his official visit, the Prime Minister is expected to have talks with his Romanian counterpart and meet with leaders of Romania to discuss measures to boost the Viet Nam - Romania relations.

He wished Romanian friends to continue to inspire all Romanians to promote relations with Viet Nam, contributing to the two countries' sustainable development goals.

In recent times, Romanian friendship associations and organizations have actively worked with the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community to organize many meaningful events marking major holidays of Viet Nam and Romania, and important foreign affairs activities as well as cultural and art programs, exhibitions and seminars.

Romania is a traditional partner of Viet Nam in Southeast Europe and a gateway for Viet Nam to enter the markets of EU countries and the Western Balkans. Romania is also one of the first countries to ratify both the EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU-Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to Romania from January 20-22 is made at an invitation of Prime Minister Ion-Marcel Ciolacu./.
